From 9 to 13 March, the Department of English hosted participants of the Blended Intensive Programme from Spain, Estonia, Turkey, and Poland.
The project brought together professors and students from diverse cultures, languages, and academic traditions across Europe and beyond – from Spain and Estonia to Poland and even as far as Asia. What began as a programme of lectures and activities quickly evolved into a vibrant space for dialogue, curiosity, and genuine intercultural exchange.
Participants explored Polish culture, reflected on stereotypes and culture shock, and discovered the power of language – how it can both connect and divide. They also shared ideas on making education more inclusive and examined how technology is shaping modern communication.
Learning extended far beyond the classroom. Field trips, cultural visits, and informal moments over coffee and meals created opportunities for authentic connections – often where the deepest, genuine understanding begins.
At its heart, the project fostered networking between young people preparing to shape the future and between different age groups learning from one another. These exchanges broaden perspectives and help build lasting foundations for greater understanding in today’s complex world, where the word „conflict” is on the news every day.
The project was coordinated by Agnieszka Woźniak PhD, Rector for Studies; Dorota Rygiel, PhD and Anna Łobodzińska, MA.
