Alicja Witalisz is Professor of English Linguistics. Her field of research is contact linguistics, English-Polish language contact in particular. She has researched and published on linguistic borrowing, neology in language, lexicology and lexicography, and the perception of contact-induced phenomena by recipient language speakers. She is a member of several Polish and international academic associations, a member of the editorial board of the Polish Linguistic Society Journal, and a member of the GLAD international research team. She has done research and lectured in several European, American and Asian universities. Her latest publications are Nowy słownik zapożyczeń angielskich w polszczyźnie (2025) and Anglicisms around the Globe – Cross-linguistic Studies on the Impact of English (2026, Routledge).
