Alicja Witalisz is Professor of English linguistics. Her field of research is contact linguistics, English-Polish language contact in particular. She has researched and published on linguistic borrowing, linguistic globalisation, neology in language, lexicology and lexicography, semantics, morphology and corpus linguistics. She is a member of several Polish and international academic associations, a member of the editorial boards of the Polish Linguistic Society Journal and Tertium Linguistic Journal, a member of the GLAD international research team, and a reviewer. She has done research and lectured in several European and American universities.
