March is a month of major promotional events at PANS, featuring conferences, forums, fairs, and other gatherings attended by scholars, educators, students, and local authorities.
On March 17th, the Department of English and the Department of Dual Language Studies hosted International Monday, an event designed for secondary school students and the broader PANS community.
The event began with an engaging lecture titled Gibraltar, It(s) Rocks! delivered by Professor Rafael Vélez Núñez from the University of Cádiz, Spain. His talk provided fascinating insights into Gibraltar’s unique geopolitical and cultural landscape, exploring its historical significance, linguistic diversity, and natural wonders.
Following the lecture, four young volunteers from the Krosno Youth Activity Centre —hailing from Austria, Bulgaria, and France—took the stage. They introduced their respective countries, showcasing captivating photos of renowned landmarks, prominent figures, artistic masterpieces, and traditional cuisine.
In the final part, participants had the opportunity to engage in trivia quizzes, puzzle challenges, and informal conversations with students from the university’s academic circles: Speak Up, Lince, and Przekładka.
A special thank you to our guests from Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Rymanów, Zespół Szkół nr 1 (Szczepanik) in Krosno, and Liceum Ogólnokształcące z Oddziałami Dwujęzycznymi im. M. Kopernika in Krosno for joining us!
