About the Journal
The journal HERBALISM (ISSN 2450-4963) is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal published since 2015 by the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno (formerly the State Higher Vocational School in Krosno). It is issued annually, and its electronic version is available free of charge. All articles are published under the Diamond Open Access model and distributed under the Creative Commons BY 4.0 license. This license allows the use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction of the material in any medium or format, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the source, a link to the Creative Commons license is provided, and any changes made are indicated. Figures, tables, and other third-party materials are covered by the same license unless otherwise indicated; otherwise, permission must be obtained directly from the copyright holder.
The journal is devoted to issues related to herbalism, phytotherapy, and interdisciplinary research on plant-derived raw materials. Its aim is to disseminate the results of scientific research as well as theoretical and applied analyses concerning the biological, chemical, pharmacological, and technological properties of medicinal plants. The journal’s thematic scope includes, in particular: phytochemistry and the analysis of biologically active compounds; biochemistry and molecular mechanisms of action of plant substances; pharmacology and toxicology of herbal raw materials; technology of pharmaceutical forms and plant-based supplements; phytocosmetology; nutritional and dietary aspects of the use of herbs; as well as historical and ethnobotanical perspectives on herbalism.
Herbalism publishes original research articles, review papers, and thematic studies. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process and are evaluated in accordance with accepted standards of publication ethics. The dynamic development of chemical, pharmaceutical, and medical sciences means that contemporary research on medicinal plants focuses not only on confirming their effectiveness but also on explaining the biological and molecular mechanisms responsible for their activity. The journal serves as a forum for the exchange of knowledge in this field, integrating traditional approaches with modern research methods.
Herbalism is included in the list of scientific journals maintained by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (20 points) and is indexed in the following databases: Polska Bibliografia Naukowa, Polska Bibliografia Lekarska GBL, AGRO, and EBSCO.
