About the Journal

With the introduction of a new herbal medicine journal, entitled Herbalism, to the Polish readers’ market, we hope that you will find the subject matter proposed by the editors interesting and that it will meet with a favourable reception. We know that many people follow scientific and technological research in the field of herbalism and phytotherapy with keen interest. Humans have been eating and treating themselves with plants since the beginning of their history. The development of chemical, pharmaceutical and medical science has meant that the mere information that something works is no longer sufficient. Scientists have been exploring and explaining the mechanism of this impact. We are witnessing a heyday of phytochemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology. The interest in plant-based raw materials is also part of the trend to return to nature and opt for ecological solutions. These interests relate to phytotherapy and phytocosmetology, as well as the use of herbs in everyday life, for example in cooking.
HERBALISM is included in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s list of ranked scientific journals (20 points) and in the GBL, AGRO, EBSCO databases of the Polish Medical Bibliography.
