{"id":1055,"date":"2020-10-07T11:57:03","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T09:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pans.krosno.pl\/fa\/nagrody\/"},"modified":"2021-03-10T09:37:25","modified_gmt":"2021-03-10T08:37:25","slug":"student-awards","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pans.krosno.pl\/fa\/en\/student-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Student awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pans.krosno.pl\/fa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2020\/10\/arnold_krammer_nagroda-150x150.jpg\" width=\"298\" height=\"298\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arnold Paul Krammer Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Barbara Foundation)<\/p>\n<p>The Department of English grants annual Arnold Paul Krammer Awards to the best graduates of the Department of English and Department of Dual Studies in Translation as well as to 1st and 2nd year students of English and Translation who have authored the best essays (250 words) on the topic: \u201eWhy did I choose to study English\/Translation?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Criteria for the graduate Award:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>grade point average (GPA)<\/li>\n<li>demeanor and comportment both in class and outside of class<\/li>\n<li>interaction with fellow students and willingness to participate in school activities<\/li>\n<li>overall effort at attaining their degree exhibited by doing work and assignments in an efficient and timely manner<\/li>\n<li>thesis defense in July of the third year of their study<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Criteria of the Award granted to 1st&nbsp; and 2nd year students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>writing an essay on the given topic<\/li>\n<li>handing it over in January, at the end of the first semester of their study<\/li>\n<li>demeanor and comportment both in class and outside of class<\/li>\n<li>interaction with fellow students and willingness to participate in school activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The jury of the A.P. Krammer Award consists of the staff of the Department of English, appointed by the Founder, Jack Lala, MA. Nominations for the award for the best graduates are submitted by all staff members of the Department in July each year, and all awards are presented during the inauguration of each academic year at the Institute of Humanities of the Carpathian State College in Krosno.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Arnold Paul Krammer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Krammer, 1941-2018, was an American Historian who specialized in German and United States history. His career as a professor and teacher at Texas A&amp;M University spanned 5 decades until his retirement in 2015. He led numerous Study Abroad programs while at A&amp;M, bringing students to Germany, Italy, Normandy and Poland. He also helped to organize the Holocaust conferences that were held at the Jagiellonian University from 2001 to 2011 along with his good friend, Professor Fritz Koenig. His connection to Krosno State College began in 2003 when he brought a group of his students to Krosno at the urging of his friend, Professor W\u0142adys\u0142aw Witalisz, and his former doctoral student, Jack Lala. He remained a good friend to the students of Krosno State College until his death.
